I hope more schools try something similar. Another idea I had is to have an online discussion where students post opinions and debate with each other.
I know that something like this could have problems, but with some basic rules of discussion, something like this could easily boost critical thinking. However, a big problem could be: students may not have their normal echo chamber they are accustomed to, such as Facebook, or their household.
Either way, something like this could be a good way to get out info, and encourage critical thinking. Even if kids do not change their opinion, they learn to defend their ideas, which means they understand them more.
